EUROPE'S FIRST EPDM ROOF SEAL HAS BEEN IN USE SINCE 1968
In 1968, a success story began in Kampen in the Netherlands: for the first time in Europe, a roof was sealed with EPDM. For half a century, the material has been exposed to wind, weather and strong UV radiation - and still does its job reliably. Despite all the enthusiasm, the manufacturers of the synthetic rubber, which was still new at the time, could not have dreamed of this.
The service life of EPDM has since been scientifically confirmed and certified. As a result of a comprehensive study, the independent industry institute SKZ came to the conclusion that the material is permanently resistant to ageing, retains its chemical and physical properties and fully fulfils its protective function for at least 50 years - with an upwardly open forecast.
SUSTAINABLE BUILDING PROTECTION
The long service life and low environmental impact of the material over its entire life cycle also have a positive impact on the eco-balance. EPDM is considered the most sustainable solution for building waterproofing currently available, which is why environmental protection organisations recommend it.
In addition to sustainability, it has special protective and processing properties and a wide range of uses. No wonder, then, that the building material is becoming increasingly popular and steadily gaining market share. In the USA, it is already the most widely used waterproofing material for roofs and facades, and Europe is well on its way to becoming one.
